Hoven is a multidisciplinary design studio based in Johannesburg, founded and led by Nisha van der Hoven.
Our practice is rooted in curiosity, unconventional collaborations, and a deep respect for process.
We work fluidly across architecture, interior design, film, fashion, art, illustration, and exhibition – believing that meaningful design emerges when disciplines intersect and ideas are challenged.

Founded by architect Nisha van der Hoven, Hoven reflects her vision of design as a story that sparks imagination and emotion. She is joined by Justus van der Hoven, an architect turned property developer and award-winning architectural filmmaker, who brings narrative and development insight to the practice. Together, they lead a collaborative team that works fluidly across architecture, interiors, film, fashion, art, illustration, and exhibition—believing that meaningful design emerges when disciplines intersect and ideas are challenged.
